Music and the 60’s – Photography by Richard Busch
November 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Richard Busch’s photographic roots go back to 1965 when he was a cub reporter at Life magazine. He was frequently assigned to accompany photographers on stories. Watching the pros work was educational and inspiring. Eventually, in 1968, he decided to give photojournalism a try himself. The pictures are of notable rockers from 1969 and 1970, were taken either on magazine assignment or just for his own interest and enjoyment.
Richard’s photographs have been published in Life, Life’s special issue on Woodstock, Show, Esquire, National Geographic Traveler, Popular Photography, McCalls, Time, and various newspapers. Eighteen gelatin-silver prints from his New York series are now in the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York. Recently, six of his self-published books, including “My New York,” and “Portraits,” (both containing some of the pictures on view here) were acquired by the Museum of Modern Art for their Library collection.
Come see this special gallery event. Richard will be on hand to discuss his work.
